This from Jane Kanarek:
We just finished the second day of an excellent conference called “‘A Woman in the Temple Court?’ Women in Seder Qodashim and in the Temple.” The conference is part of a larger project run by Tal Ilan on writing a feminist commentary to the Talmud. The most striking part of the conference has been the ways in which, by bringing new tools and questions to bear on the text, each presenter revealed the presence of women and gender in many unexpected locations.
